This money will be used in two key ways:

• Employing a part-time children and youth worker.
• Training a future minister of the gospel.

 Children and Youth Worker

Every Sunday we welcome around 70 children and young people to LEC. We have a team of around 30 people, led by one volunteer. We hope to employ someone who would be set aside to give this vital ministry the time it deserves. Rather than just teaching Sunday school, this role would focus on equipping and strengthening the team. 

Initially, we aim to raise enough money to employ someone on a 50% basis for three years. This would provide the role with certainty. As we believe the gospel is so important, and these young lives so precious, a part-time role is very much a starting point, and we hope it will lead to a full-time role in the future.

Ministry Trainee

If we want to see people in Leipzig and beyond transformed for God’s glory, then we will need to identify, equip and encourage church planters, pastors, evangelists, women’s workers, children’s workers and other Christian leaders. To this end we would love to launch a ministry trainee scheme.

The role would be part-time (50%) over two years. We would provide in house training and mentoring, as well as opportunities to serve in different areas, depending on the individual’s own gifts. This would be supplemented by attending a theological training course such as the Cornhill Training Course or Martin-Bucer Seminar.

In due course we would welcome applications from mature believers who want to be involved in Christian ministry. In all of this, we pray for the Lord of the harvest, to raise up workers for His harvest.
